It’s hard to explain the feeling. It is always amazing when you have a dream and work hard to see it come to fruition. This project has done just that, and I get to enjoy it for many years to come.

Have a look at James Goff’s DIY solar installation in Michigan!:
“I didn’t have any prior DIY solar experience, but I have prior construction experience from building my own house and pole barns. My family farms on the side, so luckily, I had the equipment to make the DIY system much easier.
The biggest obstacle that I ran into was just not having been through the process before. Unbound Solar representatives were always there to answer any questions I had. Buying the complete package was helpful by supplying everything needed. That saved me tons of time trying to estimate and source all of the products.
I met a local Electrician who had previously bought a package from Unbound Solar, which was a huge help. I have a good friend and my two boys who built the pole barn for the solar. Much of the solar component installation I did myself. It is a pretty simple process with the plans included in my package.
I did all the electrical rough-in myself and had an Electrician inspect all the components before energizing the system.
I ordered the materials from Unbound Solar in December. As part of the project, I started the pole barn on December 24, 2021. The material was shipped when I requested it in February 2022. Working on weekends and around Mother Nature, I was able to get the building ready for solar in May. I probably had two weeks of nights and weekends put into installing the solar array itself.
It’s hard to explain the feeling. It is always amazing when you have a dream and work hard to see it come to fruition. This project has done just that, and I get to enjoy it for many years to come.”
