Customer Project Specialist

Reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Technology, the Solar Customer Project Specialist is primarily responsible for guiding customers through the process of documenting their solar installation project(s) for the purposes of obtaining a permit or wiring diagram.  You will utilize your knowledge of solar systems to educate customers on how to collect necessary information required to create a permit package, potentially complying with all US states and counties requirements, with the goal to ensure a superior customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple customer projects, collecting system information, to submit to a 3rd party partner to create a permit plan set package
  • Track and document revisions required, either due to mistakes in the drawings or errors in the system design
  • Manage customer expectations throughout the process, in a friendly, supportive, and professional manner
  • Work closely with sales technicians to ensure the customer’s project details are captured and communicated effectively and accurately, to enable faster turnaround times for plan set packages
  • Provide additional support to Customer and Technical Support teams, when available

About You  

  • You have a high school diploma, technical certificate or equivalent
  • You have a minimum of 1 year solar industry experience in installation, design, or technical support
  • You possess basic knowledge of products and solutions for solar PV installation and operation
  • You have excellent communication skills – both written and oral
  • You have the ability to interact with customers to resolve concerns, address anxiety and confusion regarding their project(s), and provide encouragement, support, and reassurance
  • You are a self-motivated, quick thinker, problem solver and passionate for customer satisfaction
  • You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required education and experience  

  • High school diploma, technical certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year solar industry experience in installation, design, or technical support

Preferred education and experience  

  • NABCEP certification preferred

Work authorization/security clearance requirements
